EDI CONNECTIONS

Boost for business processes: The power of EDI for your company.

Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is revolutionizing the way companies do business. Instead of manual processes, EDI enables the automated exchange of business data between different computer systems.

From orders and invoices to shipping notifications and stock levels – EDI not only streamlines the flow of information, but also reduces errors and speeds up transaction processing. By standardizing document formats and protocols, EDI facilitates collaboration between companies and their partners, regardless of their location or the software systems used.

  • Which business processes (orders, order confirmations, invoices, shipping notifications) should be supported?
  • Which business processes have the greatest strategic potential for EDI implementation?
  • What data or information should be exchanged?
  • Should the data only be sent or/and received?

EDI introduction
This is how electronic data exchange works.

We use these transmission paths for communication:

FTP / SFTP

FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a standard network protocol for transferring files between a client and a server via a TCP/IP network. It enables users to upload, download, delete and manage files. FTP uses separate channels for commands and data transfer.

HTTPS

HTTPS (Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure) is an extension of HTTP that enables secure communication over a computer network, mainly the Internet. It uses TLS (Transport Layer Security) or SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) to encrypt data, which ensures confidentiality and integrity.

X.400

Transmission is similar to e-mail, but not via the Internet, but via separate mailboxes with unique X.400 addresses within the operator’s X.400 network. Each user is uniquely identified by their X.400 address, which makes this standard particularly attractive for the transmission of highly sensitive data.

Do you use a different transmission method?

We support the following data formats:

ZUGFeRD

As a hybrid data format, ZUGFeRD integrates structured invoice data in XML format in a PDF document (PDF/A-3). This means that the invoice is always sent in the form of a PDF document, which represents the visual component of the invoice. At the same time, a content-identical multipart of the same invoice (XML) is sent within the PDF, so that the electronic processing of the invoice via the structured invoice data – after implementation in the company-specific software system – is possible without any problems.

EDIFACT

EDIFACT is an international standard for the format of electronic data in business transactions and includes orders, order confirmations, delivery bills & invoices.

XRechnung

XRechnung is an XML-based data exchange standard for electronic invoices in Germany. It has already been mandatory in the exchange of invoices with public clients for several years. From 2025, the use of electronic invoices, such as an XRechnung, will also be mandatory in business transactions between companies. The XRechnung data format is purely structured so that the invoice content can be automatically processed electronically.

UGL4

UGL4 is a standard document and includes order, order confirmation, delivery bill & invoice, preferably in the heating/plumbing & electrical environment.

Material number synchronization

Article search made easy!

With our free material number synchronization, you have the option of adding your material number to our RECA article number.

In addition to DATANORM, the material number is also listed on every document, whether printed or electronically via EDI, making a comparison completely superfluous. You can also use the quick entry function in the online store’s shopping cart to add the required items using your material number.

We offer you several options. If the number of items is manageable, you can add the material number yourself via the online store. To do this, place the required items in the shopping cart and add your information. On request, we can provide you with an Excel file to which you can add your company’s own material numbers. Send us the file and we will import it into our system.
